Security Maturity Assessment Services in Dubai, UAE & USA
The board asked how secure the company is. The honest answer was a shrug and a reference to the firewall. Every vendor who has walked through the door since has produced a different number, each one conveniently pointing at the product they sell.
M365 Enterprise Hub delivers security maturity assessment services for organizations in Dubai, across the UAE and in the USA. We score your current posture against a recognised framework rather than a sales deck, show the evidence behind every score, and hand back a prioritised roadmap with costs attached. What Is a Security Maturity Assessment?
A security maturity assessment measures how capable your security function actually is, across domains such as identity, endpoint, data protection, detection and response, vulnerability management, and governance. Each domain is scored on a defined scale, with the evidence recorded, so the result is repeatable and can be re-measured later to show movement.
It differs from a penetration test, which proves one route in, and from an audit, which checks compliance with a standard. Maturity assessment answers a broader question: if something happens, how well placed are we? It usually precedes security architecture and governance work and informs risk management and gap analysis. Scoring references Microsoft Secure Score alongside NIST CSF, so part of the result is independently verifiable in your own tenant.
Domains We Assess
The assessment covers the domains below. Depth per domain is agreed up front, because a two-week review and a two-month review are different products.
Identify & Govern
Asset inventory, risk ownership, policy, third-party management and whether anyone is accountable for security decisions.
Protect & Detect
Identity controls, endpoint and email protection, data classification, logging coverage and alert quality.
Respond & Recover
Incident process, retainer status, backup integrity, tested restore, and how quickly the business could actually resume.

Why a Score Is Only Useful With Evidence Behind It
Any consultancy can produce a number. What makes a maturity score useful is being able to point at why each domain scored what it did, and what specific change moves it. A score of 2.4 with no evidence is a slide. A score of 2.4 with the configuration exports, log coverage gaps and untested restores that produced it is a work plan. We give you the second, which also means you can re-run the assessment in a year and prove movement rather than assert it.
Our Security Maturity Assessment Services
Delivered as a fixed-scope assessment, typically three to six weeks depending on depth and estate size.
Discovery & Evidence Gathering
Configuration exports, tenant review, log coverage analysis and interviews with the people who actually run the controls.
Scoring Against Framework
Each domain scored against NIST CSF and the Microsoft benchmark, with the evidence for every score recorded.
Gap Analysis & Prioritisation
Gaps ranked by risk reduction per unit of effort, so the first five actions are the ones that matter most.
Roadmap & Board Reporting
A costed twelve-month roadmap plus a board-level summary that explains posture without requiring technical knowledge.
Assessment Failures We Avoid
These are the reasons previous assessments did not lead to anything changing.
- Scores with no evidence: Every domain score is backed by exports, screenshots or log data you can re-check yourself.
- Findings nobody can sequence: Gaps are ranked by risk reduction per effort, with the first wave scoped and costed.
- Recommendations that map to one vendor: Findings are framework-based, and we name where your existing licensing already covers the gap.
- No baseline to measure against: Scoring is recorded so the assessment can be repeated and movement demonstrated.
Our Step-by-Step Maturity Assessment Process
- Scoping: Domains, depth and evidence requirements agreed before any work begins.
- Evidence Gathering: Tenant and infrastructure configuration collected, with interviews to confirm what happens in practice.
- Scoring: Each domain scored against NIST CSF and the Microsoft benchmark, with evidence recorded per score.
- Prioritisation: Gaps ranked by risk reduction per unit of effort, grouped into deliverable waves.
- Reporting: Technical findings, costed roadmap and a board-level summary delivered and presented.

Security Maturity Assessment FAQs
It measures how capable your security function is across domains such as identity, endpoint, data protection, detection and response, and governance. Each domain is scored against a defined scale with evidence recorded, producing a baseline you can re-measure later.
A penetration test proves one route in at one point in time. A maturity assessment evaluates the whole function: whether controls exist, whether they are operated, and whether you could detect and recover. Most organizations benefit from both, but the assessment usually comes first.
NIST CSF as the primary scale, with the Microsoft cloud security benchmark and Microsoft Secure Score for the parts of the estate running on Microsoft technology. If you report against ISO 27001, we map findings to that too.
Typically three to six weeks depending on agreed depth and estate size. Evidence gathering is the longest phase, because interviews confirm whether documented controls are actually operated.
No, and a meaningful share of findings are usually closed by configuring licences you already own. Where new investment genuinely is required we say so, with the risk it reduces stated.
Yes. A board-level summary written in non-technical language is part of the deliverable, and we can present it alongside the technical findings for your IT team.
Yes. We deliver security maturity assessments for clients across the United States as well as in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the wider UAE.
