Microsoft Defender Hardening in UAE & KSA
Many organizations own Microsoft Defender but run it on default settings. M365 Enterprise Hub hardens Microsoft Defender XDR for organizations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, turning on the protections you already pay for and tuning them to stop real attacks with fewer false positives.

What Is Microsoft Defender Hardening?
Defender hardening is the review and optimisation of Microsoft Defender XDR configuration across Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity and Defender for Cloud Apps. It includes enabling block mode, tamper protection, ASR rules, automated investigation, alert tuning and integration between products.
It complements our Microsoft Defender security suite deployment and Security Copilot services.
Defender Hardening Engagement Models

Defender Configuration Review
Assessment of every Defender workload against Microsoft recommended settings.
Defender Hardening Sprint
Hands-on enablement and tuning of protections, ASR, automation and alerting.
Managed Defender Tuning
Ongoing alert tuning, exposure management and monthly reporting.

Why Defender Hardening Matters
Defender features such as EDR in block mode, tamper protection, ASR rules and automated remediation are often disabled or left in audit mode. Alerts pile up without tuning, and teams miss real threats.
Hardening Defender closes protection gaps, reduces noise and improves your Microsoft Secure Score and exposure score without new licence spend.
Our Defender Hardening Services
Every Defender workload configured to best practice.
Onboarding coverage, tamper protection, EDR block mode and ASR rules.
Strict presets, impersonation protection and Safe Links. See email hardening.

Common Defender Gaps We Fix
What we find in most Defender tenants:
Attack surface reduction rules never moved to block.
Servers and laptops not onboarded to Defender.
Domain controllers without Defender for Identity.

Microsoft Defender Hardening FAQs
Microsoft Defender XDR is Microsoft’s extended detection and response platform that brings together Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, Identity and Cloud Apps to detect and respond to attacks across devices, email, identities and apps.
EDR in block mode lets Defender for Endpoint block malicious artifacts detected by its behavioural sensors even when another antivirus is the primary product or passive mode is in use.
Most ASR rules should run in block mode after an audit period to identify exclusions. We test each rule and move them to block safely.
Defender capabilities vary by license. Microsoft 365 E5 includes the full Defender XDR suite, while Business Premium and E3 include parts of it. We map settings to your licenses.
Many Secure Score recommendations relate to Defender settings, so enabling and tuning them typically raises your score and reduces exposure.
A review takes about one week. A hardening sprint typically takes two to five weeks including audit periods.
